Board Chairman
Nana Owiredu Wadie I, known in private life as Richard Kwasi Owiredu Wadie, is an entrepreneur, a businessman and a philanthropist. He is chairman of the board of directors of VPL Concrete Ltd.
Nana is the Nkosoɔhene of Kwahu-Nkwatia traditional area in the Eastern Region of Ghana. An astute businessman with nearly two decades experience in setting up and running business ventures, Nana Owiredu Wadie I has investment interests in varied sectors; including real estate development, production and supply logistics management, as well as general goods and merchandise.
He has over the years used his charity organization – The KABAKA Foundation – to extend development projects to various deprived parts of Ghana, thereby improving the lives of many vulnerable in society. He has also responded positively to requests by various public and quasi-public institutions for support with specific infrastructure.
Nana Owiredu Wadie I currently serves as chairman of the board of governors of St. Peter’s Senior High School at Kwahu-Nkwatia. He is married with three children.
Simon Komla Agbenyegah Ayivi
Director
Simon K. A. Ayivi serves as Managing Director of VPL Concrete Ltd., with initial responsibility of assembling a team of industry experts and experienced personnel to build a world-class production and distribution logistics firm within the construction value chain. He is also responsible for fashioning the strategic direction of the business.
Simon is a wealth manager, an investor, and entrepreneur with over seventeen years’ experience in investment management and corporate governance. In 2011, he co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of Axis Pensions Group Ltd., a pension funds’ management firm headquartered in Accra, Ghana. While at Axis, he served as a regulator-licensed trustee for three large regulated pension schemes. He was also a member of the boards of directors of Axis Pensions Group Ltd., Axis Pension Administration Services Ltd., Axis Pension Trust Ltd. – all in Ghana – and Axis Pensions, Rwanda Ltd. He had previously worked as Asset Manager with Databank Asset Management Services Ltd. His experience prior to Databank was in derivatives settlements with Morgan Stanley Inc. in Baltimore, MD, USA and Glasgow, Scotland.
Mr. Ayivi serves as chairman of the board of directors of Apakan Securities Ltd., a securities brokerage firm in Accra. He is founder, chairman, and sole benefactor of Spero Foundation, an educational support charity based in Accra.
Simon holds a master’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, NY, USA, and a bachelors’ degree in Land Economy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
Eric Yeboah Wadie
Director
Eric Y. Wadie is director of VPL Concrete Ltd. He brings to VPL Concrete a rich experience in construction and an enviable network in the procurement and built environment industry. He is an entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in infrastructure and real estate construction, having worked as contractor all of his adult life. He has delivered many projects to clients; ranging from central governments to quasi-public institutions and huge private sector clients.
He previously served as Vice President of Operations at Freedom Builders’ Construction Ltd. – a construction company in Accra – a firm he joined in 1996. He is also the founder of Answad Investments Company Ltd. and a partner of E.Y.A. Enterprise Limited, Ghana’s representative for Twyford and Geberit Group.
Eric graduated from Greenhill College (GIMPA) with a bachelor’s degree in Operations and Project Management. He is married with four children.
Michael Aguadze
Director
Michael Aguadze is director of VPL Concrete Ltd and the Managing Director of Xyte Ltd., an architectural and development firm based in Accra. An architect by training and profession, Michael has almost two decades of track-record of successfully executed residential and commercial real estate projects in the Greater Accra and other regions of Ghana.
Michael is a graduate of the School of Architecture of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a post-graduate diploma in Architecture.
He is married with four children.
