Simon Komla Agbenyegah Ayivi
Managing Director
Simon K. A. Ayivi is co-founder and Managing Director of VPL Concrete Ltd. He is responsible for assembling a team of industry experts and experienced personnel to build a world-class production and distribution logistics firm, within the construction value chain. He is also responsible for fashioning and driving the strategic direction of VPL Concrete Ltd.
An investor and entrepreneur, Simon’s background is in economics and investment management, with over two decades experience in investment management and corporate governance. In 2011, he co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of Axis Pensions Group Ltd., a pension funds’ management firm headquartered in Accra, Ghana. While at Axis Pensions Group, he served as a regulator-licensed trustee for three large regulated pension schemes. He was also a member of the boards of directors of Axis Pensions Group Ltd., Axis Pension Administration Services Ltd., Axis Pension Trust Ltd. – all in Ghana – and Axis Pensions, Rwanda. He had previously worked as Asset Manager with Databank Asset Management Services Ltd. His experience prior to Databank was in derivatives settlements with Morgan Stanley Inc. in Baltimore, MD, USA and Morgan Stanley UK, Glasgow, Scotland.
Mr. Ayivi serves as chairman of the board of directors of Apakan Securities Ltd., a securities brokerage firm in Accra. He is founder, chairman, and sole benefactor of Spero Foundation, an educational support charity based in Accra.
Simon holds a master’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, NY, USA, and a bachelors’ degree in Land Economy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
Ing. Solomon Gyebi Boateng (MGhIE)
General Manager
Solomon G. Boateng is General Manager of VPL Concrete Ltd. A trained, qualified, and an accomplished civil engineer and administrator, Solomon oversees technical operations and human capital management of the company. He is responsible for the integrity and quality of the company’s primary product, ready mix concrete (RMC).
Mr. Boateng joined VPL Concrete Ltd with over two decades’ experience in the civil construction industry. He is an expert in engineering projects and operations management, technical site supervision and commercial production of precast concrete products and RMC.
He has previously worked as Site & Technical Supervisor with VAMSET Ltd and as Site & Projects Manager with REIME Ghana Ltd. He was also Factory & Operations Manager at African Concrete Products (ACP) Ltd, and the General & Production Manager at Atlantic Quarry & Concrete Ltd. His last position before joining VPL Concrete Ltd was as General Manager of GEODOMI Concrete Products Ltd.
Solomon holds a bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering from KAAF University and a master’s degrees in Engineering Projects Management from Coventry University, UK. He is a registered member of Ghana Institution of Engineers.
Anthony Yaw Egyiri
Commercial Manager
Anthony Y. Egyiri is the Commercial Manager of VPL Concrete Ltd. Tony has an extensive record of driving successful campaigns and initiatives that deliver results; driving revenue growth and profitability.
Tony oversees all commercial operations of the business, supervising our sales and marketing team. He liaises between VPL Concrete Ltd and all third-party marketing and publicity agents. He also handles external communications for the firm.
Mr. Egyiri previously worked with Puma Energy Ghana as the Retail Manager. He also worked as Country Stock Manager for Puma Group, where he led and managed inventory for Puma Ghana, Blue Ocean Investments, Kpone Marine Service Ltd etc.
Tony holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School.
Ebow Kwegyir-Aggrey
Operations Manager
Ebow Kwegyir-Aggrey is Operations Manager for VPL Concrete Ltd, with over a decade of professional and practical experience in the precast concrete products and the RMC industry.
Ebow is directly responsible for all aspects of the firm’ RMC production, at the various plants’ (production) sites. He supervises a team of plant operators, plant mechanics and electricians, quality control experts, concrete mixer drivers, and pump operators.
He previously worked with Regimanuel Gray Ltd, Jelcem Ghana Ltd, BetonSA Ghana Ltd, MC-Bauchemie Ghana, Simcon Group, and Atlantic Concrete Products.
Ebow holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology & Management from KNUST and an HND in Building Technology from Takoradi Polytechnic.
Richard Adjei
Factory Manager
Richard Adjei is Factory Manager for VPL Concrete Ltd. He is a seasoned technician – engineer with over 30 years experience in the construction and civil engineering field. He has undertaken and supervised several projects; for individual and corporate clients. He is a resourceful and focused construction professional with track-record of many organized and precisely (i.e. within time, budget and scope) executed projects.
Mr. Adjei contributed immensely over a number of years in the development and growth of REDCO. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Bank for Housing and Construction Ltd., Ghana. Prior to joining VPL Concrete Ltd., he worked with ACP Ltd. and ACP Estates Ltd. (a pacesetter in real estate development in Ghana). At the time of leaving ACP Ltd., he was serving as Assistant Factory Manager in charge of quality and enhanced factory productivity.
Richard holds a certificate from the Management Development and Productivity Institute in Accra.
